Odor - Bathroom Sink Drain

Hello All;

3-4 months ago I replaced both sinks (damaged/peeling/rusting finish) and replaced the traps with PVC in my 40+ year old bathroom. Both drains were a little slow so I snaked them out as well. Over the last 2 weeks I've noticed a regular occuring horrible odor from the drains.

What could be the cause, and how to I cure? I'm on a septic so I'm not crazy about dumping all kinds of chemicals down the drain. Thanks.

Replacing the sinks should not have caused this problem. Unless the drains were unused for a few weeks and dried out. Even then, the traps should cure that problem. As far as chemicals, I would suggest Draincare. It is safe for septics. It is an enzyme drain cleaner. It clings to the clog and "eats" it. About $8 at Home Centers, Walmart and even some grocery stores. Follow the label directions. It does take overnight. Good luck.
