Question Air trapped in bathroom washbowl drain

How do you prevent air from becoming trapped in the bathroom washbowl drain? It gets trapped under the stopper, even when the stopper is in the up position.

Thanks for your help

RPowell, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Can you explain a little more about HOW the air is trapped? I am not sure exactly what you mean. You may have a plugged vent line. Water needs air to properly drain. The vent provides this. It's like sticking a straw in a glass of water and then covering the top of the straw with your finger and lifting it out of the glass. Water will stay in the straw until you remove your finger. With a little more info I am sure we can help you.
