water flowing into toilet bowl

water flowing into toilet bowl
Water was flowing very slowly into the toilet bowl. The fill valve (Fluidmaster) seem to be OK so I changed the flapper valve (American Standard type). Water was still flowing slowly into bowl. I checked the seat rim of the flush valve and no rough areas. Should the flush valve be changed?

wwhi, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Well...the water is coming from one of two places. Either the flapper is still leaking or the fill valve may need adjustment and is letting in water that is going into the bowl from the overflow pipe. If the overflow is the problem and you cannot adjust the fill valve, then you will have to change it. The water should be 1/2 to 3/4 inches down from the top of the fill tube. good luck.

Thanks for your reply.
The water is not coming from the overflow pipe, the water level is normal, below the pipe. Also checked the small fill tube which empties into the overflow pipe and no water flowing there when filled so I assume the fill valve is OK.
Two toilets in the house have the same problem. Maybe something should be changed, like gaskets or seals, etc? Is there any way the leak could be other than the flapper and seat?

About the only other thing I can think of is the gasket between the tank and bowl. Doubtful since it is happening to 2 toilets. From personal experience: I had my own toilet driving me crazy with the same type leak. Found that the overflow tube was cracked near the bottom of the tank.
