Bathroom addition

Bathroom addition
My husband and I were granted a permit to turn our garage into a master bedroom and bath. The project is almost finished, but my husband left...leaving me 3 weeks away from the permit deadline. Here's the problem:
The tub and toilet will not drain. The toilet tank has no water...it's all in the bowl. The sink has no water pressure (it only trickles out), but drains. I noticed that the problem started after my friend hooked up the faucet water lines to the sink. Before they were hooked up, the toilet drained, because I dumped water down it while cleaning. There is also the possiblility of a clog, because during construction, I cleared away alot of drywall, insullation and wood shavings from the PVC pipe.
Can someone give me a clue what to do? I'd hire a plumber, but I don't have the money.

Does your husband plan on coming back? If so, have him rent a drain cleaning machine and attempt to clear the drains. Sounds like what you already found is the culprit. Drain cleaning machines are dangerous for anyone to use, If you feel like trying a hand snake that isn't too dangerous; just hard on the hands.

Thanks Dunbar Plumber. Well the electric snake was unneccessary as we got into the drain to run the snake, we found a bladder that was left. Released some air and cha-ching...no more clogged pipes.
I still don't have any water pressure to the sink, but for now I can live with it. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated!

That is good to hear that it was something simple, that usually isn't the case though in most remodel jobs.
The problem with the sink may be the aerator is clogged at the end of the spout. Remove it and turn the water on, this may take care of the problem, be sure to clean the aerator out really well.
If it isn't the aerator, turn the faucet on, reach underneath and turn the shutoff valve on and off numerous times; this could free up debri possibly caught in the shutoff.
I "use" to know someone from Centerburg and Westerville Ohio up in your neck of the woods a few years ago. Been to Hocking Hills once and loved it.

Just writing back to let you know, all is well in my new bathroom. You were right. The aerator was clogged with a plaster-like substance. I took it out, sprayed it and put back. And I had a perfectly running facet. Thanks so much for your help. I learned a lot about plumbing and was able to even fix two other issues by myself. So again, thank you.
