Leaking Tank
Is there some trick to sealing the tank where the rubber washer and bolt run through the bottom of the toilet tank? Some tanks that i've attached to the bowls do not leak and for some reason i have tried everything to ensure a clean seal but the water still seems to seap through on other tanks that i have put together. I've been told not to tighten the bolt too tight and i try that, and that hasn't worked. If anyone has a solution to this problem, i'd love to hear it and appreciate the help. Thanks,,Kelly

Normally the problem lies in tightening the bolts evenly. More pressure on one side or the other will cause most leaks. Sitting the tank on the bowl is also sometimes a problem. If it is crooked or the rubber seal gets twisted, it will leak. Just be careful when setting the tank on the bowl and tighten the bolts evenly and you should have no problem. Good luck.
