Lead Shower Pan to Drain Connection
I need to get some advice/help from those with experience when replacing a leaking 42 year old lead shower pan. Here is the situation and question(s):
Exisitng lead shower pan on 4" concrete slab with mortar bed sandwiched between the pan and tile. Is the shower pan typically soldered to the flange of the shower drain or is it a bolt type of flange? Will I need to replace the existing shower drain if the pan is soldered? Can anyone shed some light on how I may go about doing this job?
Normally, I'd call a plumber to do this job. But catastrophic medical bills in the family have made this impossible and the repair needs to be done right away. I sure would appreciate some help here.
