Whistling shower

If you get no whistling when the tub faucet (if there is one) is used, it's probably the shower head. You could remove it and soak it in some vinegar or tie a plastic bag filled with vinegar over the head. Would be better to remove it so you can test and see if it is indeed the head by turning it on with head removed. If noise is still present, it could be a bad washer/"O" ring in the supply valve or handle(s). Good luck.
