Toilet Leaking - Stupid Question

My basement toilet, installed around 9 months ago, seems to be leaking a very small amount of water from the base (after it's flushed 2-3 times in a day there's a bit of water on the floor). Can I just recaulk around the base, or is there something leaking inside that I need to fix by removing the entire thing? Clearly I'm looking for the easy way out, but I don't want to leave a problem that obviously won't fix itself...

No. Caulking the base only hides the problem. I would pull the toilet and reset the base with a new wax ring.

Inspect the toilet flange to make sure it checks out okay before proceeding.
