water backup

I'm doing laundry & all of a sudden my toilets start bubbling, water is coming up out of the shower drain & the basement drain. Is there anything I can do? Or just call a professional?

Using an existing drain?

Good day, I'm renovating my basement bathroom which is 2 piece and thinking of adding a shower. There is a drain for the laundry near (within 2') of where the shower could go. I am going to move the laundry to another room. Can I use this drain? I ask because it is above floor level but I imagine it goes below the floor at some point - is it this point I need to find and hook into the shower? Thank you, Paul

American Standard fill valve - how does it work?

Hi, I replaced my bad fill valve with an American Standard version a couple of years ago. It has a black shaft with a big yellow body on top and a screw-on top. While I was replacing the flapper valve tonight, something happened to the fill valve and it got stuck open. I opened it up, and it has some sort of gasket assembly that wasn't obvious how it worked. And now it's even worse, it's leaking from under the screw top as well. :wall: Anybody know how these things work? And if I could even fix it? Thanks for any help ken
