Is $4900 for Bathfitter too much money?

I had a local Bathfitter guy come out for an estimate last Friday. It turned out to be a middle-aged lady.

She measured the tub and the surrounding walls. For a conversion to shower(ripping out the tub completely),
she quoted me $4900.

Is this too much for a job like this?

Thanks for any info!

af250xxl, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
What is she putting in with the tub? Tile (ceramic, slate etc) or a plastic surround or what? Almost $5000 should get you a great bath/shower area. Check around on the price of tubs and then get prices on whatever material you want in the area and compare. Sounds high to me but then I don't know all the circumstances. Good luck.
