Toilet won't refill...

Good morning-

I briefly turned the water off to one of our toilets today and then flushed the remaining water. When I turned the water back on, it doesn't refill. How do I restart my toilet???

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hmmmm.... Does the valve feel like its actually opening? If yes, take the tank cover off and see it the ball (or sliding float as your case may be) is stuck in the up position.

Ctl-Alt-Delete, twice. That should restart it. No, really, If you check the ball valve as Tom suggests, and that doesn't do the trick, turn the water off again, take the tank top off, and locate the fill valve. Depending on your type, you will need to figure out how to remove the top of the valve. On some models, you press down and turn counter clockwise a little and it will lift off. By messing with the water supply, you may have dislodged some lime, or some other substance and it is caught in the valve, preventing it from opening. Post back if we can help further.
