How to install a new shower set

my husband just installed a new shower head and it is one that you just move the handle to hot or cold. Now when you turn it on it runs hot and you have to turn it all the way to the red spot to get some warm water or cold water. Shouldn't the shower regulator be cold then turns to warm or hot. Please help and I am outnumbered. He had installed a new shower stall replacing the tub and I think he got the cold and hot mixed up.

You're right. Cold then hot. And he did. The cold and hot have to be reversed. If the pipes are not accessible behind the shower control valve, now, and the same pipes run up or down you may be able to reverse them either in the basement or attic without having to tear out the wall behind the shower again. Just make sure they don't go anywhere else, like to the toilet, as you will now have hot water running to the toilet. Good luck and don't use the shower until it is corrected, as it is unsafe based on the normal movement of the control handle.
