Slip washer direction
Which way do the slip washers face in a plastic slip jam nut coupling? Maybe that's why it's leaking. Thanks

While you have it out, check the surface for defects and give it a pull. Sometimes they crack and you won't notice it. Check the inside of the pipe you are connecting to also for debris. Good luck.
