Kohler Faucet leak

I have looked thru other posts and cannot find exactly what I am looking for. I have a single handle Kohler bathtub faucet that is leaking. It is really stubborn to turn off. We have been in the house just over a year and a plumber fixed the leak when we moved it but has recently started leaking again. I am somewhat handy around the house but am not sure where to start with a single handle faucet. Thanks for any help.

Is it leaking out the control valve itself or just leaking out the spout/shower head?

I work in a prison for mentally Ill inmates(crazy people} I have a guy in my unit who thinks that someone named Mr Kohler is sending messages to him and is out to get him because the name "Kohler" is on just about every toliet , sink ect. Ther guy covers up the Kohler name with paper using toothpast as clue. He used to live in another unit but had to be moved because of a large emergency generator with the the name Kohler on the side of it in big bold letters that could be seen through his small barred window. He thought it was a control center with little people in it that were reading his mind via wires that had been installed in his head by prison staff. When I remodled my bathroom I got Moen stuff
