Moving the bathtub drain/supply water lines

I recently purchased and old house and would like to make the most of a very small bathroom. Everything I have read so far suggests to plan your new layout around the existing location of the toilet.

Well my new layout has the bathtub remaining in it's current location, only I want the drain, taps and shower head for the bathtub to be on the other end (of course I know this means a new bathub but the change will creat a lot more space near the toilet etc.

Is this just a matter of running a longer drain line for the rub and longer water supply line for taps?

Water lines are not the issue. You just do make them longer.

The drain is the real problem. You need to measure the length of the drain from the trap to the stack or the first vent. You then need to check your local code and see what the maximum length of the drain line can be. This will tell you if you can do what you want to do. You also need to keep the proper slope of the drain in mind. Hopefully, you have the room for the proper pitch.

Good luck with your project....
