mixing valve shower repair / replace

Hi All - Live in two story house aprox 12 yo - force hot water heat. Water pressure in house isn't great but ok - 2nd floor bath sink has ok pressure - pressure in upstairs shower has gotten worse over years and is very low both hot and cold, but really bad on hot side - almost not enouph pressure to keep water going to shower head when button is pushed. Just trickles. Suspect this may be faulty mixing valve on shower - closet behind mixing valve that would require cutting access hole to get to it. Am relatively good at minor plumbing repairs - Does anyone know if this valve can be adjusted or if it needs to be replaced and if so, how big a job. Any other ideas about water pressure - I am assuming pipes and joints ok leading to valve, but really have no way of knowing. Suspect problem is the valve. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you have separate hot and cold valves, you may be able to just pull the valves, replace them or at least the washers for proper operation. If it is a single control with right to left operation (cold to hot), you can adjust the amount of hot and cold to the head. But since you have a pressure problem, I believe you are in need of a valve change. Post back with answers, so we can help further.

Thanks Larry - The valve is a single control delta valve - I have not installed yet but visited home depot to look at valves and realized I can replace some parts in the existing one. Picked up a ball, some springs and a round rubber part - not in front of me at the moment - hope to install them and that maybe this will avoid replacing the whole valve. I also hope the valve is in fact the pressure issue. Thanks for your help and would appreciate any other thoughts you may have. Hope to replace the parts tomorrow sometime.
