What size lag screws for pedestal sink?

I'm installing a pedestal sink (no bracket) and the installation instructions do not indicate what size lag screws to use. Is there an industry standard? I'll be screwing into 2x blocking behind the wall.

Also, is it necessary to anchor the pedestal to the floor with bolts or can I just use some adhesive caulk? There doesn't appear to be any holes for fastening the pedestal to the floor. The only holes are on the back of the pedestal's base but not on the bottom itself, if that makes any sense.

Thanks for the help.

I use 1/4" x 3" lags with a washer, and they seem to hold fine in a support board you mentioned. Likewise the weight of the sink will generally keep the pedestal in place, but a daub of silicone on the floor prior to installing is will provide insurance from slippage.
