Sniff the sink's drain and see if it is the source. How long has this odor been around and do you know of any changes or something that triggered it?

I'd suggest calling a specialist. It sounds as if you may have a broken sewer line and MAN that's nasty to deal with. Another thing that can potentially cause odors is improperly plumbed drain lines. Each thing tied into the main line needs a trap built into it. This trap has water in it which allows drainage through it and yet blocks sewer gases from coming back into the house. If there's no trap odors will be present. Also, if there's no water in existing traps, odors will be present. They don't normally come through the floor registers though. It's also possible the rains are sufficient to back the system up or perhaps the excess water has flushed something into the system to partially block it. The "rooter" type folks normally have a camera system they can inspect your drain lines with and diagnose the problem.

I went under the house and to my surprise, where the sewer pipe goes down in to the ground. through the foundation wall down under this pipe there was sewer water. it was coming out from under this pipe, the dirt surounding the pipe, was were the water was coming from if this makes any since.
This was here when we started purchacing our home,I belive this may have been one of the things that the inspector saw.
We have been here about 6 months we didn't notice this until we have had all this rain what's next........

You might want to talk to your lawyer about this.
If the problem was existing when you bought the house and it was'nt disclosed to you by the seller, then you might be able to recover the cost from the seller to have it fixed.

Regards
