reglazing a bathtub

I have an older bathtub that is peeling and chipping...I was wondering if anyone has ever had anything reglazed? Is it worth it? Does it work and last? Or is it better to just install a whole new tub? Which comes with a whole new set of problems

Thanks

Lee

The reglazing won't be as tough as the original; it *could* look great for a while, but *will not* wear well. This could be a sly trick for resale. What I suspect is driving that industry.

I've tried the DIY kit and been disappointed. I've also had it done professionally and found the surface too soft for real-life use.

Take measurements of all your door openings leading from the outside to the bathroom to make sure the new tub will fit. You probably won't be able to get a full tub/shower unit through the openings, or around corners, so you may be relegated to removing the old tub, replacing it, and tiling the walls.
