Toilet works half way

My toilet will flush and clear out whatever is needed. But the tank does not refill. It's not the traditional where there is a floater. No matter how long you wait the tank doesnt refill. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Does the toilet fill half way up the tank and then stop filling? And no matter how long the toilet sits, no more water goes in the tank? Is that it?

Is there any identification on the ballcock in your toilet? You say it's not "traditional" can you describe it? If it's a Fluidmaster of any model it has a gasket that could need replacing. Also you might remove the supply tube underneath from the toilet end and see if the water flows freely or not.Sometimes the supply valve's gasket can come dislodged and move to block water flow during filling or other load situations.
