Extension for shower & bathtub pipes
Completed the rough plumbing for new shower and bathtub faucets, tiler is about to finish tiling, and now realize that with the thickness of the built-up wall and tile, there isn't enough room to screw on the faucet heads. The faucets are Kohler, but have contacted them and they don't appear to have an extension piece to extend them. Can anyone tell me how to get a threaded extension and not have to demolish the (expensive) glass tile that has been installed?

If you mean the handle or handles, if Kohler does not have stem extensions, then you are likely out of luck. If you mean the shower head and tub spout, these are more conventional fittings. If you could post a picture, we could advise further.
Unfortunately, you made a big mistake by not following the installation instructions involving the plane of the finished wall. Your only other recourse is if you have access from the backside of the wall, for example in a hallway, closet, bedroom wall, etc.
You could take the parts to a machine shop to have custom extensions manufactured. It would be very costly. I would contact Kohler again, press them for an answer.

Can you be very clear on what is coming up short exactly? There may be a solution. Is it the trim ring can't screw on? Is it because the handle hits the tile. Be very clear, please.
