Pros & Cons - Use of Offset Toilet Flange

I want to add some cape cod wainscot to the walls in my bathroom and by doing so I do not have 12" from the wall to the center of the flange. I need approx 1/4 " more to make the toilet fit properly. Rather than moving the pipe (which is a major job), I was thinking about using a offset stool flange.

What are the pros and cons of using an offset tolet flange?

the major con to an offset flange is that the drain is restricted and they tend to plug up at the offset. i don't know of any pros.

I guess the pro might be that you can fit a toilet without moving a wall.

If you are talking about 11 3/4in. verses 12 in. you should not need a offset flange, most 12in. rough-ins will work with the 1/4in. difference, luck.

I missed that. I have a 12" rough in with sheetrock and tiled walls. I have about 1/2" to 3/4" clearance from the tank lid to the tile.
