no water from hot water tub faucet

I have a standard compression type three handle tub faucet. In the past few weeks the hot water has gone from full gale force to a small trickle. The sink hot water is on the same line and the pressure is very heavy.

I've removed the stem and dont see anything obviously wrong, but then again, I'm not a plumber.

Any ideas?

When you pulled the stem out, did the washer come out with it? How about the screw that holds the washer on? Turn off the water again and pull the stem. Look down the tube with the aid of a flashlight and see if there is any obstruction. Let us know.

If you don't see an obstruction, as chandler says, try this:
Turn off the water supply to the shower.
Remove the hot water stem
Plug the shower drain. If it doesn't have a stopper, lay a wet rag over the drain.
Close the shower curtain/door.
Turn the water supply on for a few seconds.
Turn it off again.
Go see what's in the shower. Look for washer bits and a screw.
