Replacing Flapper assemby--one piece toilet

Hi

I have an American Standard one-piece toilet that is leaking water slowly to the bowl.

I tried cleaning the flapper, but it is still leaking--even 15 minutes the float valve drops enough for water to be added. If worse comes to worse, and a new flapper doesn't fix the slow leak, how is the flapper valve and fill tube assembly installed into the base of the tank?? How do I remove it for replacement if that part of the system is the problem?

Pete

You may have to find an exact replacement for the flapper for that toilet. One piece toilets often have specific parts that need identical parts to work correctly, generic parts don't alway work. Your problem does sounds like a flapper valve. The chances of it being a bad overflow tube are long, and expensive.
