Installing new tub and Moen shower. Installing acrylic insert over ceramic tile

I am putting in a new metal American Standard bathtub and Moen one valve shower system. There is a two valve system in there right now. I can solder in the new valve.

The problem is that I had to punch a hole in the ceramic tiling to access the piping for the valve installation . I also had to remove the lowest layer of ceramic tiles around the bathtub.

How would I put an acrylic shower insert over the ceramic tiles? My main concern is how to level the surface where the tiles are missing. I have cement board to fill in the holes. I don't want to wait for tile adhesive and grout to dry so I am going to go with an acrylic shower insert. The panel type.

What type of saw or knife. would I use to cut an acrylic insert. Would aviation snips work?

Thank you for your assistance.

I have decided to tear out half the wall and install fresh cement board. Then I will tile the wall again.

It will be easier than trying to install Polystyrene wall surrounds.
