new toilet install

how far from the back wall do I need to place the drain and flange to install new toilet? new construction, not placing existing fixture.

Usually 12" to center of drain.

Install instructions with the new toilet should say if it's any different.

Agree with 12 inches as standard, but some are different. If you have a specific one in mind check it's specs first. Also the 12 inches is to the wall so if you install a new wall dont forget to add the 1/2 or 5/8 for the drywall thickness.
