waste drain size in concrete floor is 5 inches. Wax ring size for toilet to buy is no larger than 4 inches. How do I get a seal and connect toilet down. Toilet is American Standard.

Let's get really accurate here.. Measure both the inside diameter and the outside diameter of your existing pipe. Take those measurements (and a photo if possible) of your problem pipe to a plumbing supply house (maybe even a "good" box store) and they will steer you to the proper toilet adapter for your needs... Pipe sizes are standardized in the U.S. - and you should be able to find what you need with judicious measurements.
