High Tank Toilet

My wife and I are redoing our bathroom in our house. It is an American Foursquare style and we are trying to keep things looking old. At any rate, we are looking at the high tank toilets and think it would be a neat thing to use in our bathroom. So far all we really know about them is that they are louder than a modern toilet and the reproduction ones we are finding online are incredibly expensive.

We found some at a plumbing recycling type center, however, we were told they do not meet code for water consumption and such. We liked some of the bowls that were there and have not seen any reproduction ones in the same styles. Is is possible to use an old bowl with a newer tank somehow? If it matters, we are using brushed nickel finishes on the other faucets and such.

If this is possible, what type of tank would we need? Where could one find the pipes and fittings?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry, the answer is no. The bowl needs to be designed for the lower volume of water.
