Disposal Troubleshooting

Good Evening!

We have a 6 month old disposal that is jammed. I have done the old standby routine of turning with the provided wrench. No dice. No matter how long I turn it's still pretty sticky.

After using the wrench for a few minutes and turning the power back on it will turn just for a half second or so then the humming starts again.

Obviously something is jamming the disposal that's substantial.

Is there a good "next step" in troubleshooting this problem?

Thanks a million!

Talking Problem Solved

After some more cranking and checking I was able to take out a tiny chunk of wire (or something like that). After surgery the disposal is working like a champ.

Look inside the disposal with flashlight to see what is in there, with the power off (like unplugged not just off) pick everything out with your hands.

There it is just a bit late. Your second post did not show up until after I posted this one.
