No water in toilet bowl

After a flush the bowl flushes and the tank fills up fine but not enough water flows back into the bowl. I loosened the screw on top of the valve assembly to adjust the amount of water coming into the tank but that only resulted in a running toilet so I tightened it back down. Adjusting the float didn't help either. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone may have. Thanks.

There should be a tube coming out of the fill valve, usually at the top, that is called a refill tube. That tube, if its even there, should be going into the overflow tube of the flush valve. That is what refills the bowl after a flush. Check that out
