Shower valve and shower head - how high?

I am in the process of installing a new shower and am wondering what the recommended heights are for the valve and the shower head. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Usual height is about 72", but not a hard/fast rule. Set it to suit the family.

I found one site with the details of shower.

They are explaining using images clearly

I agree with the choice thing. There are suggestions on height, and apple gave a good source. I am installing one in a new bath at our cabin, and am "playing" a bit with it, since I do this stuff for a living. I am installing the valve at a reasonable height, about belly button high. I bought a tub/shower unit with a push button diverter, and will run the shower head off the top of the valve and a secondary pipe from the tub outlet across about a foot to a hand sprayer. Gives the option of taking a normal shower and pushing the button to get to use the wand. You can make placements anywhere you need, but think of others in the family and future buyers as to their reaction, also.
