Toilet Leak At Base Cause?

I noticed my downstairs toilet (in finished basement) was leaking water around the base, not overflowing from the bowl. We have a septic system which is due for a pumping too. Would a full septic system cause the toilet to leak at the base or would it more likely be a bad wax seal? (seems to me, when the septic system was full, the toilet backed up over the bowl not seeping from the base??)

Even if it was to turn out that the septic system was backing up you'd want to pull this toilet and replace the wax seal.It would still be damaged and contaminated.

If the system was backing up and the wax seal was weak it might push through but if you are able to flush with no issues I'd bet it was the seal.

Biggest clue:It leaks after flushing but not when the toilet has been idle. That would be the wax seal.
