Tub Drain removal/ Tub removal

Hi,
Goal: Remove tub on second floor.

Issue: Having a heck of a time removing the tub drain. From the top, i have a pair of pliers and trying to turn it counter clockwise. Tried WD-40 to try to loosen it up. No go.

Since it's on the second floor, can't get to it from underneath to cut the drain either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on removing the drain? i'm almost looking to resort to getting a grinder and cutting the tub.

thanks

Grinder is not so far off. Use a Dremel Tool with a reinforced carbide cutter wheel inside the drain. Cut through the pipe about one half inch down. If you use the reasonably priced cut off wheels you will probably break or wear out 4 or 5. If you use the expensive ones you may only need one or two.
