Bathtub/shower slopes towards back wall

Hi, I have a tub that has a significant slope towards the back wall. As a result, water pools along the back edge where the tub meets the tile. This causes a lot of mildew and I think eventually will lead to leaks. A friend of mine thought this was just a design feature of the tub as it was put in an upstairs bathroom and it keeps the water from running out on to the floor. I am not so sure about that. Is this actually something that is done or was the tub installed wrong?

The tub was most likely installed wrong. Tub decks and flanges are almost always presloped in design to allow the water to run into the tub.

Tub Problem

It was installed wrong like the other post said. In order to fix that entails major work; it has to be tore out and re-set, sorry.

Thanks, I was afraid that was the case. I was planning on re-doing the tile anyway so I guess I will take care of that at the same time. Thanks for your help!
