Toilet bowl refill

My toilet bowl has stopped refilling. I changed the inside on the bowl & when I turned the water back on it started to fill & then abruptly shut off. The water hadn't reached the float; so I'm a bit perplexed. Water is running without any issues in the rest of the house. Any help out there???

Check any valves on the water line into the toilet including the supply valve under the toilet, take the line loose from the toilet after turning off that valve and aim it into a bucket, turn it on and see what happens.

It sounds like a washer has come loose from that valve or another valve if there is one in that water line and is blocking flow under pressure.

If it is the valve under the toilet it needs to be replaced,it is not repairable.
