Shower Trap

i am putting a shower in the basement. The drain has no trap and connects to the main drain under the concrete. so I have a stub that needs to have a trap.

The problem is the stub in where I want to put the shower. I know a running trap is unacceptablein Michigan.

So my plan is to build a 2x6 subfloor. This will be large enough for a trap. then I will use 3/4" sub flooring for the shower to rest on.

Sound like a good plan?

The only idea I have you don't want to hear; you have to dig down in the concrete and add a trap, that could be easier then building a subfloor, plus you save headroom.

Keep in mind if you are going to use a shower base the trap has to be dead on the drain hole of the base.
