Shower stall remodel advice

We have a shower stall with old tile that leaks constantly. Instead of re-tiling and caulking every time there's a leak some friends have mentioned shower kits that we could install right over the old tile. Does anyone have any recommendations for choosing a shower kit? Is this something better left for a contractor? I'm always up for saving money and taking on projects myself, but I don't want to start something I'm not going to be able to finish.

Thank you,
Kevin V.

There are alot of companies that do shower surrounds. I would go with one of them. If you want to do it yourself, contact E L Mustee. They have some products that you could use but you'll have to order through a plumbing supply if you want them.
