Older shower losing hot water

I have an older shower with separate valves for hot and cold water. Gradually the hot water valve has stopped bringing in hot water and is now tepid at best and getting worse. There is still hot water in all the sinks and tubs. PLEASE HELP ME!

I didn't see your post before. I would change the shower body.

Can I put a piece of vinyl cloth and use adhesive substance to secure it to make a temporarily fix until I can afford to get a new shower pan and installed?

I need to change the washer in my sink faucet but I can't unscrew the conical covering at the base of the stem to let me access the washer. I have unsrewed it before so I know the procedure but it seems over the years it got stuck and now I can't twist it. Anyone know a way I can unscrew this cover? Any help would be great.
