Sink Overflow Leaking

I have 5 Briggs Model #3000-1-2-3-4-5 sinks in my house. 2 of the sinks are leaking at the overflow as seen in the picture, between the metal sink and the plastic overflow. I am wondering if I can just silicone over the silicone is there to seal these holes or if I need to get new sinks. Briggs customer service is non-responsive, the model does not even show up on their site, and the sinks are only 5 years old. Thanks

I have this same problem!

I have 2 of these sinks and have the EXACT same problem. It's driving me nuts. Have you found a solution yet?

I scraped out some of the old silicone where it was leaking and just squeezed in some new stuff. Don't remember the brand I used, but it seems to be working. Never did hear from Briggs after contacting their customer service 2x. Guess I know what brand I will stay away from in the future.
Thanks
