replaced handles, tub faucet still leaks
Hi, moved into my Dad's old house and started remodeling the bathroom. All we did with the shower was redo the tub surround so we never touched the plumbing, but we also didn't pay attention to if it was leaking or not, but I think we would have noticed it.
Once we put new handles on, we noticed the tub spout dripping and condensation inside the clear plastic handle for the hot water.
We changed the handles, spout and cleaned all the parts. O-rings and such looked fine, but still leaked.
The overflow cap says "Eljer," but the stores haven't carried that brand in years, so we found cartridges that were compatible with Delta and a couple other brands. They looked 99% identical so we changed those out.
The leak stopped for a couple weeks, but now the spout is dripping again and seems to get worse every day. No condensation from the hot water valve anymore.
So what's next? Thanks.

Can you take a pic?
Is this three handle? Sometimes it may be water from the shower arm. You need to center the middle handle after a shower so the water drains out.
Could be something else, but a pic would help. Also a pic of the old cartridges.

OK... Yeah we are here to help. 2 handle? I could tell you this. There usually is a check valve in the hand held shower sprays...Do yo have a hand held? Some home owners remove them and thats the cause of your issue maybe.

Wow I'm amazed that I forgot about those. Then again I'm not surprised since i've only done this once before.
