clog between toilet and tub

I have a clog that seems to be inbetween the toilet and the tub. I have used drain cleaner in the tub and plunger in both. I also tried to snake the toilet but was not sure the snake went anywhere. A month ago new clean out was put outside where a tree root had broken the pipe. Two weeks later the toilet and tub clogged again. The plumbers snaked from outside and said just a paper build up and try to flush extra water. Now it its clogged again.

First, don't bother with pour down the drain chemicals. They rarely work, waste your money and leave a hazardous junk in the line to deal with when you work on the clog.

When you say the toilet and tub clogged. Describe exactly what is happening. Does the tub drain slow all the time or does it drain for a bit and then back up? Does the toilet drain slow? Does it flush once OK but then backs up with a second flush? These answers will help determine where the clog might be located.

the tub is draining slow but fills with water when the shower is on. the toilet would flush ok if not flushed for awhile in between. but now will not flush it fills up and eventually drains down to regular level. And sometimes the toilet water was backing into the tub.

The tub and sink are tied into the toilet vent. So if the tub and toilet backs up the clog is clearly after this joint/wye, and is in the main line.

Now where is it???? Well best bet would be to pull the toilet and snake through there. A video inspection after is a must. They should take it to the street.

Now they may try snaking from the clean out put outside. If that is a two way clean out they can run the snake the other way towards the home. Again video inspection is a must so you can see if flow is restore and what the initial problem is.

The plumbers snaked from outside and said just a paper build up
Why did he say this? Because he had paper on the snake? That does not mean nothing...

Again video inspection. Pay a little more now for the inspection , otherwise it will cost you more in the end constantly calling the plumber back to snake.

Any experienced plumber should always offer video inspection. If they do not then they are the snake and run flavor of plumbers.....
