sink hot water shut off valve open: No water!
Hi there. Our kitchen sink focet broke today. We ended up getting whole new sink and focet. Everything worked fine before, but now that we got everything hooked back up the hot water isn't working. Shut off valve is open, it worked this morning, but now nothing.
Any ideas? Only answers we've found is possible sediment? Would that happen in the few hours we spent getting the sink and setting it up? Can the actual valve break? We're a bit confused. Thanks.

Yes....a valve can break. More likely is that the washer broke lose and is blocking the line or stem failed so it isn't opening.
Take the line off the valve and crack it open slightly (with a rag over the end and a bucket underneath) If you get water flow...it's not the valve.
You can also back flush the faucet. Leave the hose off the hot directed in to a bucket, put a rag (or your palm) tightly over the spout, and open the faucet to a mid range position (assuming single handle). This would force cold water back down the hot line.
