Repair Broken Stem on Kitchen Faucet?

Hello,

The stem on my kitchen faucet seems to be broken. Is this something that I can repair without replacing the entire faucet? I've attached some pictures (basically the screw that's supposed to hold the handle in can't attach, everything else works fine).

Thanks in advance for any help!

If you can't use a zip screw, remove the stem & replace it.

Remove the stem and replace it with a new one.
Know the brand? If so the company may send you a new one for free.

Thanks to both of you for the responses. It looks like I can get a replacement valve (Kohler GP1016515 ) for about $13 which is definitely worth it to me.

Is replacing the valve fairly easy? Would I be better off trying the zip screw first?

You won't lose anything by trying the zip screw.

Both Palpo and joecaption gave bad advice IMO. The stem they talk about is the cartridge,,,

Long story short replace the part you stated and forget about the zip screw....
