Pedestal sink basin replacement
Hi. The basin of my pedestal sink is cracked and I would like to replace it, leaving the pedestal intact. Not having done this before, I would like to know if you can tell me:
1. Do most basins fit most pedestals, or is it tricky finding one to match.
2. What are the key measurements?a. distance fromfront of pedestal, back to the wallb. distance between faucet holes on the basinc. ????
3. Anything else I should know?
THanks.

Unless you can find a basin made by the same manufacturer and possibly from the same firing plant, I doubt you will find one that matches. Why so reluctant to change both out?

Well, just finding either the basin or the pedestal alone will be a challenge. Lifting out the pedestal is no big deal as it just sits on the floor, unless you have tiled around it and it is grouted in.:NO NO NO: Yeah, I'd get a matching pair.

I think you'll expend less energy just replacing the whole thing than you would trying to find a match.

Thanks a lot guys. Looks like it's held to the floor with one bolt, so it's no problem. I have put in a corner sink and counter sinks, but not pedestal. Looks straightforward enough. Will replace the whole (damn) unit.
