1980's vintage delta scald guard shower low pressure, can't regulate

My mom has an early 1980's delta scald guard shower(shower only,no bath).
It's developed a problem with low water flow and being unable to regulate the temp(either all cold or just too hot)
I've already replaced the spool valve (to the right of the mixing/control valve)
but the problem remains. I also replaced the seats and springs in the mixing control.

There seems to be adequate pressure if I remove the mixing valve and turn on the water(it sprays out with enough force to hit the back of the shower), AND and adjacent sink on the same line works fine.

I'm out of ideas.....

Has anyone had any problems like this or have any other ideas I could try?

It must be the spool.. Is this two sperate controls? Or is both combined in one?

Can you take a pic of the knob and plate so I can see what it looks like?

yes I can get a picture. I"ll get one and post it.
IT is a single control.

I was just at my mom's to investigate this further.
Even on all hot, it's not too hot for me, but for her it is.
When you turn the knob back clockwise towards more cold, it hits a point, where it goes just lukewarm. I did try to adjust to a happy medium and there is no adjusting.

LIke I said also, I did put a brand new spool in it already, so I'm stumped.

Thx in advance
