Bathtub install question before cement board

I dropped an American Standard Plaza bathtub in to place in my daughter's bathroom reno project today.

I installed the support stringers where American Standard says it belongs but the tub does not rest on the stringers, it feels like they are about 1/2 to 3/4 below the lip of the tub.

Is that normal?
I expected the wall side lip of the tub to sit gently on the stringers.

I thought most tubs dont use stringers anymore...

Yes the tub should just rest on the stringer from how we did it way back when...

Your best the call AS...

Thanks Lawrosa,

I just missed the call center hours, will try again tomorrow.
They go to the trouble of giving you all the major dimensions, center lines etc, but the levelers miss their mark.

American Standard confirmed there is a mistake in the printed instructions, off by one inch!
A lot of time wasted.

Model 2221 should read 20 1/2 inches on measurement E, the floor to top of leveling stringers, not 19 1/2 as printed.
