Kitchen Sink Spray Hose Leaks

Hi, I had to replace the hose guide on my kitchen sink, which required removing the base that the sprayer screws onto. I put everything back together and turned the water back on. Now it seems like there is air in the line or something because it will make a thump thump thump sound and every time it thumps a drop of water comes out of the sprayer. I've tried reassembling and it did not work. Any ideas? Thanks!

Just a guess, but maybe some debris or other object got dislodged and is blocking up the hose? And the sound is the debris knocking around? I know when I have worked on faucets, when the water is turned back on sometimes little chunks of stuff come out of the faucet.

Unscrew the aerator on the nozzle and let it flush out.
