Problem Removing Faucet Handles

Hi,

I've been dealing with a badly leaking faucet for years (2 handles, leaks from both and also leaks under the sink). I've debated replacing the entire faucet, but figure I should try to replace the cartridges first to see if it makes any difference. The problem I'm having is removing the faucet handles to expose the cartridge and remove it. I've posted a picture where you can see what parts of the handle I've removed, but I don't know where to go from here. I've tried prying it off, but with no luck so far and I didn't want to over do it and cause a bigger issue if that's not how I should be doing this. Thanks in advance for the help! I'm betting that mineral deposits and corrosion have really stuck the knobs in place. They should lift straight up after removing that screw in the center. With the screw removed spray in some penetrating oil and let it soak for a while and try wiggling and pulling up. Sometimes they can be stuck on pretty well, in which case they make a special knob pulling tool.

You mentioned that it's leaking below. Where is the water coming from? Is it just water that leaked from the knob above and ran down and under the base of the faucet or does it seem like you have a crack or hole in the fixture?

Thanks for the help. I'm still having no luck unfortunately. I've used WD40 and also bought the tool, but nothing is working. As far as the leak underneath the sink, it looks like it's just water running under the base of the faucet. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

That's a really cheap faucet and looks like it all corroded on the left side. I'd just replace it.

I agree with Joe. However, a good soaking with CLR or Lime-A-Way might help.
