P trap gauge?

P trap gauge?

Is there a noticeable difference in longevity or other advantage with the different gauges of brass p traps? This is for an exposed vanity setup in a bathroom.

But of course... Thicker lasts longer but you will pay more.

Also depends on what you put down the drain...

I would suggest plastic. If put in neatly and no marks on it I will look just as good as the chrome.

Would a plastic chrome plated p trap basically be the best of both worlds?

Yes but I never saw a chrome plated PVC trap.

Here's an additional one that claims to be made of ABS, even though a diagram from the manufacturer says polypropylene - link.
