Cannot Remove Shower Seat

Hi,

Hoping someone here might be able to give me some advice. I was trying to remove one of my shower seats but cannot. The seat just spins. The hole isn't stripped the whole thing is turning. It just will not come out. I'm sure stumped on this. I can twist the whole thing with needle nose pliers too it just will not back out. Any suggestions sure would be appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums! So we can see what you are seeing, could you post a picture or two of the seat and the fastening system for it? http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

OK. I'm totally lost. The three pictures are of the same thing. Is this a "seat" like you sit on? Or are you describing something else? Pictures of a complete assembly would help.

Its the seat in a valve Larry...kinda confused me at first too.

Only thing I can think is that there is corrosion on the back end but the threads are shot. I'd try to hook something behind it and pull straight out?

Sorry guys I didn't explain better. It is the seat in a shower valve. The stem is out and I tried to take a close up so you could see the problem. I can get a hold of it and it spins and spins just dosent work out. I was hoping there was something I could to to fix it short of tearing out the tile to replace it. I sure appreciate any suggestions.

Our plumbing Pro is off for the weekend I guess, he may know some trick...but based on the corrosion/erosion I see, my suggestion could be the issue? Does it lift up at all when loosening?

Does it tighten down? If not there are some bad threads somewhere, either the seat or the valve body itself.

It does lift out a little when trying to take it out. It will not tighten again though. It does leak more now though then when I started.

Try an easy out or a reverse drill bit.
